Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actress director, producer, educator, playwright and Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father comes from Britain, while her mother is a "Turkish English-Cypriot expat." Anna's first memories involve attending rehearsals for plays and watching her mother's working. In her early years Anna was a part of a variety of television commercials. Anna relocated to Toronto for her acting to grow. Later, the actress relocated Los Angeles. Anna was introduced to Seth Cooperman in 2007 at an actors' workshop located in Los Angeles, and they got engaged in the year 2009. Anna began her journey to becoming a Jewish woman at the age of 11, after having converted to Judaism. The couple was wed in a civil ceremony in December that year and then renewed their vows at an Jewish wedding ceremony that took place in Fredericton the month of April in 2011. Bo's same-sex relationship to Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was noted in CNN's list of all-time favorite Television Couples and was named the top TV Couple of 2013, by E! Entertainment Television.
