Amy Smart was an American model as well as actress. Amy Smart, who was born and raised California USA began her modelling in Italy. In 1996 she made her first appearance as a actress in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. After a very difficult struggle to get a part, she was offered a role as "Starship Troopers" her role in Starship Troopers. Amy had a difficult time making the transition from modeling to acting because models aren't usually thought of as an actor of high quality. They are usually given smaller roles that aren't important. Amy did her best to get noticed and eventually she was offered bigger parts beginning in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. In 2005, she was cast on the lead role in the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major box office success and Amy had finally found the fame she had been striving for for over 10 years. Then she continued to appear in some of the biggest movies, including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played a recognizable character.
